Like our birthday, our Baptism is a special occasion and one that should be celebrated. Our Baptism is “God’s most beautiful and magnificent gift” (CCC 1216). In celebrating our Baptism, we are honoring God. Here are five ways to celebrate your Baptism:
Celebrate The Sacraments

Without the sacrament of Baptism, none of the other sacraments would be possible. The next time you receive the sacrament of Confession your sins are washed cleaned like they day of your Baptism. When you receive the Eucharist remember the Eucharist “reinforces the incorporation into Christ which took place in Baptism though the gift of the Spirit” (St. Pope John Paul II, Ecclesia De Eucharistia, 23).
Renew Your Baptismal Promises
Another great way to celebrate your Baptism is to renew your Baptismal promises. While we do them at Mass during the Easter Vigil, you can renew your Baptismal promises anytime. If you would like a PDF version, please click here.
Leader: Do you reject Satan?
Response: I do.
Leader: And all his works?
Response: I do.
Leader: And all his empty promises?
Response: I do.
Leader: Do you believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth?
Response: I do.
Leader: Do you believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was born of the Virgin Mary was crucified, died, and was buried, rose from the dead, and is now seated at the right hand of the Father?
Response: I do.
Leader: Do you believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting?Response: I do.
Leader: God, the all-powerful Father of our Lord Jesus Christ has given us a new birth by water and the Holy Spirit, and forgiven all our sins. May he also keep us faithful to our Lord Jesus Christ for ever and ever.
Response: Amen.
Afterwards you may bless yourself with holy water
St. Louis De Monfort’s Consecration to Mary Prayer

Another prayer that can be said is the St. Louis De Monfort’s Consecration to Mary Prayer.
I, ________________ , a faithless sinner, renew and ratify today in thy hands the vows of my Baptism; I renounce forever Satan, his pomps and works; and I give myself entirely to Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Wisdom, to carry my cross after Him all the days of my life, and to be more faithful to Him than I have ever been before. In the presence of all the heavenly court I choose thee this day for my Mother and Mistress. I deliver and consecrate to thee, as thy slave, my body and soul, my goods, both interior and exterior, and even the value of all my good actions, past, present and future; leaving to thee the entire and full right of disposing of me, and all that belongs to me, without exception, according to thy good pleasure, for the greater glory of God in time and in eternity.
4. Display Your Baptismal Certificate

Another way to honor your Baptism is to display your Baptismal certificate in your home. You can place it in your bedroom, above your bedroom door, office, prayer corner, etc. If you don’t have a copy of your Baptismal Certificate, you can reach out to the church where you were baptized.
5. Have a party!

Like a birthday party, have a Baptismal party. Presents can be optional or they can be religious themed. You can make it as simple or grand as you like. It might not be ideal to celebrate everyone’s anniversary of their Baptism, but you could celebrate everyone’s together on the feast day of the Baptism of the Lord which is the Sunday after the Epiphany.
