The Capuchin Retreat Center is tucked away in Washington, Michigan about 40 miles north of Detroit. The Capuchin Retreat Center is perfect for anyone seeking intimacy with God. The Capuchin Retreat Center offers retreats, the Sacraments, spiritual direction, and spiritual events throughout the year.
It has been our experience that the friars and their staff are true to the teachings of the Catholic Church. The friars that run the Capuchin Retreat Center are extremely humble and they have a beautiful spirituality.
Retreats
Retreats are offered throughout the year for men, women, couples, children, teen, and religious. Typically, retreats are are offered on the weekends. They do offer mini-retreats such as Morning Reflections and Evening Series or week-long retreats. My husband Michael and I have been attending their couples retreat every year and we find it incredibly fruitful for us and our marriage. We find the speakers on the retreat do a great job of presenting the material in a way that speaks to each person in their spiritual life and they leave the rest to the Holy Spirit to do His work.

The Capuchin Retreat Center also has daily Mass. They do have weekend Masses, but not for the public. Weekend Masses are only available to those on retreat.

On the first Wednesday of the month, after the Healing Mass at 7:00pm, they offer blessings with a first-class relic of Blessed Solanus Casey. Solanus Casey was a Capuchin who lived in Detroit and is on the pathway to sainthood.

Spiritual Direction
The Capuchin Retreat Center also offers Spiritual Direction. The cost is $40 per session. The sessons are 1 hour and in-person only. They have religious and lay female Spiritual Directors.
Scholarships
Don't let the cost of the retreats or Spiritual Direction interfer with your ability to grow more intimate with God. The Capuchins offer scholarships for those who need financial assistance. I have not known that they have turned anyone away. They have generous hearts and the Lord always provides.
Peaceful Grounds
The Capuchin Retreat Center is a place of solitude and peace. You don't have to be on a retreat to walk the beautiful grounds. You can visit anytime of year. They are on 95 acres in which you can sit and enjoy the scenery, explore the trails, or do outdoor Stations of the Cross.
